Challenge format

The same rhythm in every section.

Knowing the structure helps students pace themselves and recognise when to move on.

Questions 1–7Accessible start

Settle in, read closely and collect the early marks accurately.

Questions 8–13Medium difficulty

Use knowledge, reasoning and careful elimination of unlikely options.

Questions 14–16Harder questions

Expect less familiar facts and more demanding distinctions.

Questions 17–20Four-part visual set

Use a shared image or figure to answer four related questions.

Multiple choice

Every question offers four possible answers. Choose the single best answer.

Increasing difficulty

Questions become more challenging within each section, then reset for the next topic.

Flexible order online

Online students can move between questions and change saved answers before submitting.

No negative marking

Incorrect answers do not lose marks, so leave time to answer anything you skipped.

Helpful tip

Stay up to date with a reliable news source.

Follow a trusted news summary regularly. When you meet an unfamiliar person, place, organisation or event, look up one or two connected facts.
